centre / 中心
不管多么的努力,做的再好,
如果那个人只以自己为中心,一切也白 费了。。
It doesn't matter how much effort we put in, how good we do it,
if the person only has [he/she] as the centre, everything is of no use..

Valentine's Day not Christian celebration
came across this article when i browsed my FB.. was curious when my fren actually commented to ask us to read da LAST paragraph.. so, i went to have a look... after reading til da LAST paragraph, my reaction was SPEECHLESS... another so called 1malaysia.. ><
PETALING JAYA: Valentine’s Day is a secular observance that is not celebrated religiously by churches in Malaysia or worldwide, said the Council of Churches of Malaysia.
Its general secretary Reverend Dr Herman Shastri said the National Fatwa Council had erred when it referred to Valentine’s Day as a Christian observance and has hurt the feelings of Christians in Malaysia.
“To suggest that Valentine’s Day is observed by Christians is unfair and misleading.
“Although the word ‘Valentine’ draws some connection to St Valentine, the church’s authorities have not endorsed the connection, be it Roman Catholic or Protestant,” he said in a statement in reference to an article on Valentine's Day posted on the website of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim).
The website described Valentine's Day as: “The practice of celebrating the day of love (Valentine’s Day) has not been recommended by Islam. (The) spirit (of the) festival has elements of Christianity and the practice is mixed with immoral acts (and) are prohibited by Islam that clearly contradicts the belief, Sharia and Islamic morality. Therefore, Muslims are prohibited from engaging in celebrating the day.”
Dr Shastri said the council appealed to the authorities to repeal such hurting inferences that Christianity promotes sexual promiscuity because of Valentine’s Day observance, often made in the media and in the said Fatwa.
On Wednesday, PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hasan Tantawi was quoted as saying that the Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor governments had directed all local authorities to work closely with police and Rela in order to carry out operations to check immoral activities during Valentine’s Day.
On Thursday, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Jamil Khir Baharom said the National Fatwa Council had, in 2005, decreed that Muslims should refrain from celebrating Valentine’s Day, as it was not part of Islamic practices.
He added the Jakim would launch an anti-Valentine’s Day campaign on Friday.
Well-known motivator Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood had also commented on Valentine's Day saying "immoral activities, partying and unmarried couples associating in private are traditions of the Christian community".

Michelin star honour for Malaysian restaurant in New York
A Malaysian restaurant in New York City, Laut, has been awarded a prestigious Michelin star for its achievements in Malaysian cuisine.
Two other Malaysian restaurants in New York City, Nyonya and Fatty Crab, have also been acknowledged in the 2011 Michelin Guide for New York City Restaurants. All three restaurants are participants in Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation's (Matrade) Malaysia Kitchen Programme (MKP).
Located near Union Square, Laut is believed to be the first Malaysian restaurant in the United States to receive this award, a huge culinary honour.
Having a Michelin star associated with a restaurant means that a restaurant is not only among the best in its city, but also in the world.
It is a mark of consistent excellence across all categories and it is based solely on the quality of its food. Among the notable Malaysian dishes served at Laut are beef rendang, curry laksa, satay and nasi lemak.
"Not only is this a wonderful honour for Laut, Fatty Crab and Nyonya, it also elevates the overall position and prominence of Malaysian cuisine in the US," said Wan Latiff Wan Musa, Matrade's New York-based trade commissioner, in a press statement.
"The award complements the goal of our Malaysia Kitchen For The World campaign, of which these restaurants are active participants. Our campaign seeks to boost interest among Americans to try Malaysian food and visit Malaysian restaurants. We are confident that this prestigious award will generate more excitement about Malaysian cuisine all over the world."
The Michelin guide has become an international benchmark in gourmet dining. Now representing 23 countries and three continents, the collection of 26 Michelin guides includes more than 45,000 addresses. Its team of highly trained inspectors visits establishments anonymously, applying Michelin's international standards for quality across many categories.

songs
i have never had da preference in Mandarin songs..
its not tat im being racist o westernized by its due to da reason tat most of the Mandarin songs are about love.
Being the one hiding somewhere looking at love one, being out of love and so on n so forth..
well, basically, songs are of those themes..
but da only different between Mandarin and English songs is, no matter how sad or happy da song is, da melody of an English song will forever catchy and much more melodious than Mandarins..
While da melody in Mandarin songs will forever sad til cant be sad anymore..
well, in order word = totally emo.. ><

Is being in which class really tat important?
If tat student really is intelligent n willing to listen, which class will be da same..
Even if it‘s da best class, if da student did nt do his o her own part, it‘s of x use..
A class is only a place for student to study..
It depends on students themselves to get gud results, nt da class..
